CONFINED IN BED

I’ve mostly been ill this past week

Confined in bed and home sick

All day the jacaranda flowers shed

And Old and new scents burst up to perfume the wind.

Thoughts of drinking recklessly are always on my head

Weak and in great discomfort, my mind stray unbound.

Like a dream time has passed so fast

And as you are always in my heart, I sit and wait patiently for my guest.
