A LONELY DAWN

For now I leave my small bed reluctantly

The dawn is here and the breeze sting me to wakefulness

Beyond my gate the pool is boiling with tiny bubbles

Small and large fishes are dreaming between rocks

The flower heads are tilted down as if dizzy with sleep

While among trees sleepless crickets are at it again

The morn air is burgeoning with scents of last year

Wind and rain have not washed away traces of my sorrow

The sight of a yellowing horizon makes my feeling strong

At the doorways of their nests a colony of weavers are chirping
