READING AND DRINKING

Towards midnight, frogs start all over again
A thousand households and I alone I’m awake
Beyond the window, trees are weeping dearly with rain
Pining, I gaze so long, so long that my eyes grow numb and shake
Reading and drinking does not stay my melancholy;
Our encounter cannot be an accident, it’s a pity I should here lay so lonely
