ON A CLEAR DAY

21/10/2012

On a clear day, butterflies form a ring about a blooming tree.

In the double shade and pleasuring the hours away, in simple glee

I count the fallen leaves withering beside my knee

And delight in the noise of the dry flowers crushing under my weight.

Rolling on soft perfumed grass or spreading listlessly my dizzy weight,

I miss you again on recalling your fine touch that final night!
